Coronavirus Patient Update 23.03.2020
We are getting a number of enquiries about how to order your repeat prescriptions. You can order them in a number of ways:
The simplest way if you have it is to use My Health Online. It has all your details including repeat medications so all you need to do is tick what you need. If you are not registered, please email the surgery on [email protected] (or follow the email us link on Facebook) and we can arrange to send out the forms.
You can use any apps on your phone that you have linked to your chemist, these work in a similar way to My Health Online.
You can email us directly at the practice on the same email address as above with your name, date of birth, best contact number (for enquiries) and a list of what what you need. Please remember to include the medication name and strength.
You can ask someone to drop off your prescription to the surgery, there is a box outside on the wall at each surgery so you do not need to come in. Please remember to wash your hands after you have been.
Lastly, you can telephone us between 10am and 12pm but please note, our lines are extremely busy at present.
If you are able to, please order a day or two earlier than you would usually.
We still need a minimum of 7 days to process your prescription if you are a chemist patients and two working days if you are a dispensary patient.
Thank you
Please avoid coming into the Practice premises. We hope these points will help you.
In effort to minimise risk of infection to patients and staff and to cope with unprecedented demand on our service, we are making changes to the way the Practice works. Your co-operation & patience is appreciated. This will be reviewed daily and updated as appropriate.
If you have a fever or a new continuous cough – please do not attend the surgery, you should self-isolate for 7 days and follow Public Health advice.
Keep up to date by checking our website and social media. Share this information with others – including those with no internet access. Please note we are unable to respond to individual Facebook comments.
⦁ All non-essential appointments are cancelled.
If you have a pre-booked appointment the Practice will contact you. You may be offered a telephone consultation with a clinician instead.
⦁ If you have access to My Health Online you can cancel your appointment yourself.
⦁ For urgent appointments, visits requests, or advice, please telephone the practice, a member of the clinical team will ring you back. Please assist by giving the receptionists clear information and confirm your contact details.
⦁ Essential nursing appointments e.g Warfarin monitoring.
We will inform you if your appointment is cancelled. If you become unwell please contact the practice before attending. You may be asked to wear a mask when you arrive as things progress.
⦁ The appointments book going forward is currently closed, all appointments will be triaged and the GP will decide on whether an appointment is necessary at this time.
⦁ Repeat Prescriptions Order as usual (we will be reviewing this).
Use My Health Online, if you have that service. You can sent a request via the post – or you can drop your repeat prescription into the box on the wall outside the surgery. Please avoid coming into the surgery if possible. Prescriptions can be sent to a pharmacy of your choice by request. We may issue more than one month’s prescription (if appropriate) to reduce the number of times you need to attend the surgery or chemist. Please consider sending a friend, family member or neighbour to collect prescriptions on your behalf if you have any particular concerns.
⦁ All routine work has been suspended. This includes routine recalls for annual reviews, copies of records and form requests.
⦁ The Practice will not be providing letters or sick notes to any patient who has been advised to or has chosen to self-isolate.
We realise that some patients may find these changes frustrating, however verbal abuse to any member of the Practice team will not be tolerated.
Members of the Practice team also have to follow Public Health Advice and may need to self-isolate, and in the event of schools closing further staff may not be able to work, this will have an impact on our staffing levels and services.
Remember, in order to stop the spread of the virus:
• Self-isolate if you have symptoms or are feeling unwell.
• Wash your hands regularly with hot water and soap.
• Carry disposable tissues with you at all times.
• Catch coughs and sneezes in a tissue, and dispose of safely immediately.
Help family, friends or neighbours who may be self-isolating or those having difficulty with shopping or collecting prescriptions – or who may just need a reassuring chat with someone.
Please help us to help you
Thank you.
